Lets talk about local drama or something?
Im currently watching this. C.L.I.F

Storyline. Well, typical. But the good thing is, it wasnt as commercial as I thought. But the first episode was. Shut me off at first. None of the case requires any brain storming. nothing too in depth, nothing too complicated.

scripting was so-so. well, cant blame. lots of SPF facts got to be thrown into the dialogues...in Chinese. I guess we are just too used to technical jargons in English, thats why the actors and actress were really stiff with their words, let alone those English speakers. there's a lot of times when when actors/actresses got to do ADR, I'll just go sighing. Really felt a little embarrassed with our Mandarin.

Storyboard...not bad? I can say. The way they introduce the different devisions of SPF and the collaboration and stuff to the audiences. At least, people like me with zero knowledge with our police-crest people will go "oh I see~"

BGM, hmm... local drama had a little breakthrough on BGM composition and selection. the opening song was not too bad. solemn and serious.

acting, uh huh. just personal opinion, no offense to any individual. I think Qi Yi Wu, Elvin Ng, Andie Chen and Romeo Tan did pretty well in their portrayal. Especially Elvin Ng. Though I think he still needs a bit of voice training, the way he played his role kind of reflect on one of my NPC friend. there are really people out there who find NPC sian but still take pride when they are in uniform.

I was told that Romeo Tan is a newbie. is he? not sure. rarely catch local dramas. To me, everybody feels new to me. Except for Tay ping hui, Chen Tai Ming and some other veteran actors. If Romeo Tan is a newbie, then I think he really has got the potential.

didnt mention about Tay Ping Hui's acting is because he always give me the image that he's acting Tay Ping Hui and not Zhong Yi Da. That identity is too strong. is that the reason why he never gets best actor award?

before concluding, I just want to express my 2 cents thoughts with local productions. Local production is something I very much would like to show my support to. but...hais... many times, I dont know why the slots are all filled up by taiwanese shows, be it variety shows or dramas. Local variety shows are all about food, travelling, sometimes a bit of fashion and rarely with unique themes. nothing else?

Local dramas heavily themed and localized with aunties doing some soap operas. hais...
